Behind the Walk for Peace stands not a single figure, but a small community of Buddhist monks, each carrying their own history, discipline, and quiet dedication to the path of compassion. As they walk mile after mile across the country, they do so not as symbols or performers, but as practitioners — shaped by years of monastic training, meditation, and service.
In this article, I would like to gently introduce the monks who are walking for peace, to share who they are, where they come from, and the teachings they embody through their presence and steps.

Venerable Monk: Bhikkhu Paññākāra
The Walk for Peace is guided by Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra, the head monk and spiritual leader of this journey. With quiet determination and deep humility, he leads not through speeches or commands, but through example. His presence sets the tone for the entire walk — steady, mindful, and rooted in compassion. Each step he takes reflects a lifelong commitment to non-violence, patience, and inner discipline.
As the head monk, Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra carries the responsibility of both spiritual guidance and human connection. He meets people along the road with openness, listens more than he speaks, and reminds others that peace is not an abstract idea, but something practiced moment by moment. Under his guidance, the Walk for Peace becomes more than a physical journey — it becomes a living teaching, showing that leadership grounded in humility can move hearts far beyond words.
